Handmade from locally-harvested Big Leaf Maple, the Carving Board is the perfect balance between strength, weight, knife feel and good looks. Since carving boards see far less chopping than cutting boards, the thickness is 1/2” slimmer to save weight when carrying a heavy roast to the table for family-style serving. The deep juice groove helps prevent overflowing, and a juice well allows for spooning or sucking juice out with a turkey baster.
The straight grain is attractive while not distracting from the work at hand. This grain pattern is the result of an intentional milling process that orients the wood's growth rings in a 'rift-sawn' pattern, reducing the risk of warping and keeping the board flat.
